TRAINING PRACTICE
We are approved for the training of doctors who wish to specialise in General Practice . These trainees are called GP Registrars . They spend between 6 months to 1 year at the practice depending on their stage of training. They consult patients in the same way as a GP partner . Their work is overseen by the partners and GP trainers at the practice to ensure quality of care and enhance training. Their training also involves assessing their consultation skills. To do this they often need to video their consultations for training and assessment purposes. The recordings are confidential . Your permission and signed consent will be requested before any consultation is recorded.
We are also approved for the training of medical students who spend 8 weeks at the practice as part of their undergraduate training . Both GP registrars and medical students start their training by sitting in and observing GP partners consultations. We hope you will help us to continue to train doctors in this way and appreciate any feedback you may have .
